PIDs and Autoinflammation mini documentary
Explore the crossover with us
IPOPI is excited to announce the launch of a mini documentary dedicated to the crossover of primary immunodeficiencies (PID) and autoinflammatory and rheumatological manifestations!
The mini documentary is split into two parts, one dedicated to management in children and one to management in adults. Both can be viewed on Youtube and on tvipopi.org.
The videos had the kind cooperation of physicians from France and the Netherlands, such as Prof Alain Fischer, Dr Nizar Mahlaoui and Dr Virgil Dalm, among others. IPOPI was also glad to have participation from a kind family from France whose daughter was diagnosed with CINCA syndrome (chronic infantile neurologic cutaneous and articular syndrome) as a baby, and from two adult patients Dutch patients with lung and bowel complications.
Autoinflammatory and rheumatological manifestations are frequently seen in PID patients. Its causes are increasingly better understood and treatment is available. For some manifestations it is possible to fully reserve the symptoms, for others, careful weighing of risk-benefit is necessary as treating autoinflammation can increase the risk for infection in PID patients.
The recording started in France in February of 2020, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and ultimately finished with online recordings in January of 2021.
This project was kindly supported by an unrestricted grant from SOBI.
