In Memoriam – Sven Fandrup
It is with deep sadness that the IPOPI Board of Directors announces the passing of former Board Member Sven Fandrup. Sven was part of the Danish primary immunodeficiency (PID) patient group and served in the IPOPI Board as Board member, as Treasurer and as Vice President until 2014. He was a generous friend and a straightforward man who contributed greatly to IPOPI’s mission and ensured its growth and stability.
He became passionate about PID patients’ issues following the diagnosis of his beloved son Kasper. At the time little was known about his son’s PID and he sadly passed away at the age of 16.
Sven authored several books that explained PID in lay language and had patient centeredness as a guiding compass. IPOPI and its national members will forever be thankful for his wholehearted dedication to the PID cause and will take comfort in following his steps.
We send his wife Britta, who always supported him in his engagement, and the Fandrup family our deep condolences.
