EMA renews IPOPI membership at PCWP

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has confirmed IPOPI as a member of the Patients’ and Consumers’ Working Party (PCWP) for the next three years (2022-2025). This confirmation comes after a call for applications for the PCWP membership until 2025.

The PCWP is a working party in which the EMA provides a platform for exchange of information and discussion of topics of common interest for both the patient organisations and the EMA. Amongst the topics of discussion of the previous mandate, there was the COVID-19 developments in terms of medicines and vaccines evaluation, pharmacovigilance (oversight of medicines after they are placed in the market), shortages of medicines, antimicrobial resistance, etc.

The working party was established in 2006 and since then, IPOPI has been a member. Jose Drabwell (IPOPI Board member and past IPOPI President) represents IPOPI as a full member and Leire Solis (IPOPI Health Policy and Advocacy Senior Manager) is her alternate.
