On June 6,  IPOPI held a webinar focused on ADA-SCID management, from diagnosis to treatment and welcomed 53 participants from 20 countries.

Dr Reem Elfeky opened the session by tracing the timeline of major discoveries in ADA-SCID, outlining how diagnostic tools and treatment options have evolved. She also addressed recent advances, including gene therapy, and discussed current challenges in ensuring access to care.

Prof Fabio Candotti then explored what is known about the long-term effects of ADA-SCID treatments. His talk highlighted the importance of ongoing monitoring and multidisciplinary support to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.

Moderated by Martine Pergent (IPOPI President) and Dr Nizar Mahlaoui (Chair of IPOPI’s Medical Advisory Panel), the session offered valuable insights into the progress made in ADA-SCID care and the efforts still needed to optimise long-term management strategies for patients living with this rare condition.
