Purpose

Young Adults are defined as young people from 16 to 25 years of age. Young Adults are the future. It is therefore important:

  • For National Member Organisations (NMOs):
To involve them to the extend possible in their on-going activities.
  • For IPOPI:
To listen to the opinions of the Young Adults and as far as possible incorporate their ideas in its reflections.
  • To give the Young Adults an opportunity to exchange points of view by offering a IPOPI Forum for Young Adults on its website.
  • To urge NMOs to let some of their Young Adults participate in the biannual IPOPI meetings.

Budapest 2006

9 Young Adults joined the IPOPI/ESID/INGID biennial meeting in Budapest 4th - 7th October 2006.

They had created their own agenda and programme, which included:

  • Workshop on “How can NMOs develop their engagement of Young Adults”, and
  • Workshop on “Travelling with PID”, which was followed by a discussion with people from Baxter.

Friday 6th October was set aside for a day of sightseeing in Budapest under direction of David Pádár, Hungary.

As a result of the discussions the Young Adults have created a special forum, which will be available for YAs representing their NMO. Details for this forum can be obtained from sven@ipopi.org.

The Young Adult programme was generously supported by the World Immunodeficiency Networh (WIN) - Thank you WIN.
