The 3rd Vietnamese National PID Doctors and Patients meeting

IPOPI has been continuing its PID awareness raising activities in South East Asia, most recently with the 3rd Vietnamese National PID Doctors and Patients meeting, following the 1st and 2nd meetings in 2015 and 2017. This two-day meeting took place on 23-24 November 2019 at the Hotel Nikko Saigon, Ho Chi Minh (HCMC), and was organised in close collaboration with the HCMC Children’s Hospital 1.

The 11th National Clinical Immunology Symposium & The 2nd International Conference on PIDs

IPOPI had the great pleasure to co-organise and support the 11th National Clinical Immunology Symposium (NACLIS), together with the Malaysian Society for Allergy and Immunology (MSAI) and with IPOPI’s Malaysian member, MyPOPI, among others. The symposium took place on November 20-21, 2019, in the newly opened Hospital Pengajar University Putra Malaysia (HPUPM), and welcomed both national, regional and international speakers.

IPOPI Regional Latin American PID Patients Meeting – 10-11 October 2019, Cancún, Mexico

Every other year IPOPI organises its Regional Latin American PID Patients Meeting in parallel to the biennial Latin American Society for Immunodeficiencies (LASID) congress, and 2019 was no exception. This year’s edition took place in Cancún (Mexico) 10^th-11^th October, and brought together patient representatives from a great majority of IPOPI’s Latin American National Member Organisations (NMOs). The successful meeting offered educational lectures, various workshops and a networking dinner for the participants, giving them an opportunity to learn, to share and to be challenged by new scenarios in the workshops.

IPOPI Regional African Patients Meeting – 11-12^th April, Dakar, Senegal  

IPOPI held a Regional African Patients Meeting in Dakar, Senegal during the 11^th and 12^th of April 2019. The meeting was organised back to back with the 6^th ASID Congress (African Society for Immunodeficiencies). This meeting offered a unique opportunity for patient representatives in the region to interact, and to experience both interactive workshops and educational lectures to increase the understanding of the conditions of PID patients.

IPOPI 2^nd Regional Asian PID Patients and Doctors Meeting

IPOPI organised its second Regional Patients and Doctors meeting in Asia on November 10-11 in Bangkok, Thailand. The two-day meeting was organised back to back with FIMSA (Federation of Immunological Societies of Asia-Oceania) Congress 2018. The first day of the meeting was geared toward doctors and the second day was dedicated to patient education and included a workshop on World PI Week.

IPOPI National Philippine Strategic Meeting

IPOPI and PhilPOPI organised a small-scale meeting in Manila on September 29, 2018, to help the associate Philippine National Member Organisation (NMO) to activate and find strategies and concrete action points for the future.

IPOPI held a South East Asia Advocacy & Media Workshop in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), on September 22 – 23, 2018.
The workshop was preceded by a joint NACLIS-IPOPI meeting.

The meeting was very effective in identifying the key facts and next steps for the Taiwanese PID community.

1st Philippine PID Patients-Doctors National Meeting held in Manila, Philippines November 5-6 2016

The national PID meeting was the first of its kind in the Philippines bringing together patients, family members, medical students and doctors from different regions of the country. It was an opportunity to exchange concerns in PID care and to a unanimous agreement that there is a need to launch a national patient organisation.
