PID awareness

Objective 3: To raise PID awareness globally

World Primary Immunodeficiencies Week – WPIW

World PI Week is a global campaign held every year on April 22-29, aimed at raising awareness for primary immunodeficiencies (PID) and increasing public understanding of these conditions. The campaign’s main objectives are to promote early diagnosis, improve access to treatment and care, and support individuals living with PID. Each year the campaign runs under a general theme to promote these main objectives.

As a member of the Steering Committee of World PI Week, IPOPI collaborates with its national member organisations (NMOs), healthcare professionals, policymakers, and various stakeholders to raise awareness about PID, promote early diagnosis, and advocate for improved treatment and care.

IPOPI’s World PI Week Grants program plays a significant role in supporting NMOs by empowering them to organise diverse activities worldwide, such as PID congresses, family days, impactful social media campaigns, blood or plasma donation days, policy events, press conferences, and many more! These activities serve the overarching goal of shedding light on PIDs and improving the lives of individuals living with these conditions.
